About Us

David and Sandi met through a mutual friend in 1996 in Tanzania and have been living in Nairobi since 2003. Through their shared love of the travel industry they combine African hospitality with Canadian standards to provide a comfortable and homey atmosphere for visitors.
 

David Thuku is Kenyan born and raised. He holds a degree in International Business Administration from the United States International University Africa. He has traveled extensively in Tanzania and is an accomplished mountain climber.

David brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to tourism having spent fifteen years in various aspects of the industry in both Tanzania and Kenya.
 

Sandi Carlile was born and raised in the USA (Colorado, Ohio and Oklahoma). Most of her adult life, however, has been lived in Western Canada both in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Apart from raising a family, working on behalf of women both in volunteer and paid capacities, working in retail and in the travel industry as a travel rep, tour escort and travel agent, Sandi, an avid bird watcher, brings many years of personal travel experiences to Kenya tourism with extensive travel on all the continents and more than 80 countries. A life-changing nine months of overland travel on the African continent deepened her appreciation and her love of the land and its people.
